This article at a glance

  • First decide whether you want to 'hold a balance', 'pay one bill', or 'get a service'.
  • Each has a dedicated page; the table below sends you straight to it.
  • For every method, ask two numbers before paying: the exchange rate and the fee.
  • A healthy service gives a receipt and refunds in full if the payment can't be made.

One thing is true of every method

Whichever method you pick, the final price is made of two things: the day's exchange rate and the service fee. Ask for both as numbers before paying — if one is hidden, comparison is impossible. And make sure the service gives a receipt and refunds in full if it can't complete. None of this depends on 'which method'; it's what a healthy service looks like.

What's the difference between 'top-up' and 'payment'?

A top-up puts a balance on an account to spend later; a payment sends an amount straight to a merchant or destination account. Want credit for later — top up; paying once — pay.

How do I know the real price?

Ask two numbers before paying: the USD rate the calculation is based on, and the service fee on your amount. 'Lowest fee' without a number is not a price.

What if the payment can't be made?

In a healthy service, if the payment doesn't reach the destination the full amount is refunded to you, and you have the receipt.

Does Rima create a foreign account for me?

No. Rima tops up an existing account or pays an invoice; opening a foreign account (such as PayPal) is yours to do.
